Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineeing  offers following custom research services:

Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering Methods for Support of Intensive Therapies
Evaluation of prototype membranes for biomedical applications:
- Description of the membrane structure (assessment of the membrane properties, membrane cut-off using in-vitro tests and microscopic assessment).
- In-vitro characterization of the membrane structure repeatability (ultrafiltration studies).
- In-vitro characterization of the membrane filtration properties (clearances and sieving coefficients measurements using simple solutions, plasma and whole blood).

Laboratory for Biomedical Optics
The Laboratory provides possibility for experimental testing of modern diagnostic techniques based on interaction of near infrared light with the tissue structure. The laboratory is equipped with the modern devices: femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser; time-resolved optical imaging system; frequency-domain system; broadband supercontinuum laser source; time-resolved multiwavelength photodetection system; hypoxicator system, time-gated intensified CCD camera, laser Doppler imaging system.
The facility allows measurements of the optical properties of the physical phantoms and real tissue, especially:
- time-resolved optical measurements of changes in blood oxygenation,
- time- and wavelength-resolved optical measurements of the inflow and washout of the contrast agent, 
- depth-resolved evaluation of changes in blood perfusion in the human head,
- measurements of the changes in oxy- and deoxyhemoglobin concentrations in human head provided by a hypoxicator system,
- measurements of blood perfusion in microvascular network,
- sensitivity profile measurements.

Laboratory of Biostatistics
Laboratory of Biostatistics deals with data mining, building ontologies, and practical  statistical analysis of biomedical data. We are developing data mining methods and software for predictive modeling and classification with flexible variable selection for multidimensional data. The methods take into account specific needs of data analysis encountered in biology and medicine, and can be used, among others, for analysis of patient survival data with arbitrary censoring patterns including left-, right- and interval-censored observations. New methods for exploratory analysis for various associations in databases are also available. Some of the software tools for these analyses will be presented as services via internet within the framework of the e-Hepar project.
